Aerial & Drone Photography

Not every listing needs a drone pass, and we'd rather tell you that up front than sell you one. Book Aerial & Drone when the property's real selling point only reads from above: an acreage or corner lot whose true size a ground shot can't convey, a waterfront or view property where the outlook is the whole pitch, a home backing onto greenbelt or trail, or a new build worth showing off next to a park, school, or transit line. A tight in-town rowhouse or a mid-block unit with nothing but neighbours on either side usually doesn't need it — the interior gallery already does the selling. At a flat $164.99 per shoot, it's an easy add once the lot itself is part of the pitch.

What's included

Aerial & Drone is a flat $164.99 add-on, booked alongside your photography shoot or on its own. Once ground-level coverage wraps, the flight covers both stills and short video clips in one pass — lot lines, the view corridor, the roofline, and how the property sits against its neighbours — with no separate charge per angle or clip. Flights operate under Transport Canada's drone (RPAS) rules (CARs Part IX), including no-fly-zone and controlled-airspace restrictions, so a shoot near YVR, Boundary Bay, or Pitt Meadows gets checked against that airspace ahead of time rather than on-site. Aerial work is weather-dependent — same as exterior shoots — so wind, rain, or fog gets a free reschedule rather than a flight that won't turn out. Edited stills land with the rest of your gallery next morning; the video clips are ready to drop straight into a listing video or a vertical cut.

Aerial & Drone: common questions

How much does drone photography cost?

$164.99 flat per shoot, in CAD plus 5% GST, covering both aerial stills and short video clips from one flight. Add it to a photography shoot or book it on its own.

Is aerial drone photography actually worth it for my listing?

For acreages, corner lots, waterfront or view properties, anything backing onto greenbelt or a trail, or a new build near a park or transit line — yes, an aerial frame sells context a ground shot can't. For a tight in-town rowhouse or a mid-block unit boxed in by neighbours on both sides, it rarely adds much, and we'll tell you that instead of upselling it.

What airspace and Transport Canada rules do you fly under?

Every flight operates under Transport Canada's drone (RPAS) regulations (CARs Part IX), which set no-fly zones and controlled-airspace restrictions. Properties near YVR, Boundary Bay, or Pitt Meadows can fall inside controlled airspace with tighter altitude limits or advance notice requirements — flag the address at booking and we'll confirm what's flyable before shoot day, not on-site.

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate on shoot day?

Drone flights are weather-dependent the same way exterior shots are — wind, rain, or low visibility get a free reschedule rather than a flight that won't produce usable footage. No charge for the rebook.

Do I need permission from a strata or the neighbours to fly over the property?

If the listing is a strata property, check the bylaws for any drone restriction over common property before booking — some buildings restrict it explicitly. Flights stay within the property's own airspace and don't require neighbour sign-off, but if a strata has a no-fly bylaw on file, let us know and we'll plan the shoot around it.

What do I actually get delivered — stills, video, or both?

Both, for the one $164.99 flat rate. Edited aerial stills are delivered with the rest of your gallery the next morning; the video clips come ready to cut into a listing walkthrough or a short vertical clip for social.

Is drone included in a package?

Yes — Aerial & Drone is included in the Premium package (from $799), together with MLS photography, cinematic video, a 2D floor plan and twilight photography. It isn't part of Essential or Signature; on its own it's $164.99 per shoot.
